MELRO’S MOBILE CLOSET

SUPPORT THE WORK

To provide vulnerable youth with:

• Safe and supportive resources
• Trauma-informed care
• Access to education and mentorship
• Exposure to cultural experiences
• Emotional healing support
• Opportunities that expand confidence and self-belief

The Foundation works with foster youth, system-impacted youth, and incarcerated women across the United States.

MelRo believes healing includes joy.
Through the Foundation, youth have:

• Traveled to Disneyland
• Attended ballet performances
• Participated in private film screenings
• Joined healing workshops and empowerment events
• Received mentorship and leadership development

For many youth, these experiences were their first opportunities outside of survival mode. Exposure helps expand what young people believe is possible for their lives.

MelRo has facilitated healing workshops and one-on-one coaching for incarcerated women across the United States, many of whom were once system-impacted youth.

This work focuses on:

• Trauma healing
• Identity restoration
• Self-efficacy
• Personal growth and accountability

Breaking cycles requires reaching women before they return to their communities.

MelRo’s Mobile Closet is an upcoming initiative designed to serve youth in foster care.

The vision is a mobile boutique that travels directly to agencies and group homes, allowing youth to select clothing and essentials in a dignified environment.

The Mobile Closet will provide:

• New clothing
• Shoes
• Toiletries
• Hygiene items
• Luggage for youth who often move homes with trash bags

The goal is to restore dignity, create confidence, and provide choice.

MelRo’s Foundation is sustained through private support and community partnerships.
